Day hike to the White Sand Dunes 2/28/09

We took the family & a picnic & headed out to the White Sand Dunes for the day. The kids were fun & enjoyed all of it. We hiked up & down the dune hill, mostly running & jumping on the way down, found little creatures in the ponds which they all dared to hold after a lot of coaxing, & even hiked clear to the top of the mountain. Fun day!

Valentines Day '09

Lainee decided that we were going to have a Valentines Day family party. She was so cute and got it all set up. She had hearts with our names on them and balloons and placed them where we were to sit. She had games to play like the word game that you try to see how many words you can make from the words Happy Valentines Day. She had us write letters to each other. We drew hearts and filled them with Valentine words. And of course, we all had to bring a Valentine for each other and place them in the holders that she made for each of us. She was so excited to have that party and she did a great job! Thanks for the party Lainee!

That night Trent & I went to a murder mystery dinner party. It was for Trent Staheli's birthday. The theme was set in the 20's and we dressed the part! I found my dress complete with fringe, at Target in the clearance section! Why Target had a dress like that I will never know but it won me the best dressed award! The prize was some watermelon flavored Nipple Nibblers from Passion Parties (Where every day is Valentine's Day!)!! It has yet to be used! TMI!! It was a fun night.

Rigby's 3rd Birthday 1/26/09

Since I am doing this whole blog thing as my journal, I thought that I should include what has
happened in the last few months. Most importantly, my baby's (as he still likes to be referred
because he still wants to wear diapers!) 3rd birthday.
We decided that we would give him a big boy birthday and try to start the potty training. We did the dump truck cake, gave him a big Tonka dump truck, a pack of candy canes - he LOVES candy canes!, and of course his new underwear! Grandpa & Grandma Wilson and Great Grandma Nelson came over and gave him a fun farm set with a tractor. He was so excited for everything! Dad decided that it was time to don the new underwear! He took Rigby to the bathroom and he went peepee! He came out in his underwear and said "I did it!". We all cheered for him and that made him even more excited so he said "I want to do it
again!". He did that three times and peed each time! Can you imagine how happy we were?!
So we let him hang out in his underwear for the rest of the night. He loved all of the attention and even got to play MarioKart with Grandpa Wilson. After the excitement of the day, he wanted his diaper back on! We tried for a couple of weeks following his birthday to keep him going potty but it didn't work. We are now waiting for him to decide that he is a big boy and that he should go potty on the toilet. Oh the joys!

See how cute he looks in underwear! Rigby just came in to see what I was doing and I showed him the pictures. The conversation went like this...

Me: Look how awesome you look in underwear!

Rigby: Yeah I do!

Me: We should put your underwear on today!

Rigby: OK!!

Me: You have to go potty when you wear underwear.

Rigby: (pausing to think) Maybe next time! (and quickly runs out of the room!)

So the other night I had a dream that Trent cheated on me, SO real, SO mean, SO wrong!!! Anyways, I think that it may of had something to do with what my 3 year old said this morning and I quote, "Mom, Dad's cheating you!". I just had to laugh! It was so out of the blue! Then later this morning my 7 year old noticed that Dad didn't wear his wedding ring today and said, "What if some girl sees Dad and wants to marry him? He could say he is already married. OORRR he could just say that he has a home and car and everything and wants to go home and then tomorrow he can go back wearing his wedding ring and they will all be like oh, you're married! That would be so funny!" And she proceeded to laugh! She thought that it was so funny! I assured her that when Dad comes home for lunch that I will make sure that he puts on his ring! I love you Trent!
