Day at Red Cliffs 5/29/09

Chanieca & I took our kids plus 1 to Red Cliffs. The water had already stopped flowing but the kids found a pond to play in. Then we hiked back to the camp & roasted hot dogs, smores, Starbursts, & Caysen & his friend roasted crawdads! Yummy!

Fishing trip to Baker

We had a nice evening of catching blue gill last Tuesday! Its all our family could catch! Jeff, Chanieca, Caysen, & Cam all managed to catch some trout though! The kids loved throwing rocks, playing follow the leader, & playing with Lucy. We even got a picture of Trent kissing one of his catches before releasing it! Good times!

Lucy!

This is our new puppy Lucy! She is 3/4 yellow lab & 1/4 golden retriever. She is 7 weeks old & she is so cute! Our two youngest are still terrified of her! They will pet her if we are holding her but the moment she starts walking toward them then they start crying! We are hoping that this will help them get over their fear of dogs.

My Mothers Day gift

I have always wanted a window box & Trent clued in this Mothers Day! Of course he let me pick out the box & flowers! My cute family was so good to me! A yummy breakfast BEFORE 9 o'clock church with a long nap after church! And I didn't even have to teach my lesson! I really like Mothers Day! Thank you sweet family for a wonderful day!

Lainee's reading center 05/09

Lainee loves to read so she set up her own little reading center. Each blanket is a personel reading area with its own rules to follow. The papers on the wall & the back of the couch read as follows:
So cute! I am glad that Lainee loves to read & I love all of the creative things she does to make it even more fun!

Bolt!

Rigby just walked in with a black marker without a lid and handed it to me & said with a big smile "Guess where I colored?"

So I said "Where?"

Rigby "I made lightning bolts on my legs because Bolt is a boy!"

Yep! Sure enough he has black marker all over his legs! At least is was to be a boy!

Our hike to find rock marbles 5/3/09

We stayed at the cabin over the weekend after Trent's graduation, and decided to go for a hike up rock marble hill behind the old cabin. The Staheli's were at the cabin too because Tanner had a baseball tournament in Panguitch.

This was the hot spot for finding the rock marbles.

An overlook spot looking down on the canyon.

We found a log bridge that the kids tested out & it held them!

Hiking up to the cliffs.

The cool "holey" wall!

On the way back they stopped for another view shot!

Our rock marble garden of all the rocks we found! (the little rocks) We found a lot of perfect circle rocks of all sizes & some were more than one rock stuck together like the snowman rock that had 3 perfect rocks stacked on top of each other! It was a lot of fun & pretty views.

Olivia's preschool graduation 5/4/09

Last night was Olivia's graduation from preschool. They had a fun little program in which they sang a bunch of songs & were presented with their diplomas.

The kids each made a poster doll of themselves at the start of the year.

Trent's MBA Graduation 5/2/09

I am so proud of my sweet husband! He has been so busy with his full time job, his executive secreatary calling, his business and graduate school! And he's done it with good grades! We (especially Trent) are ready for a vacation!

At the commencement ceremony, SUU gave a honorary Doctorate of Public Service Degree to President Thomas S. Monson. He received a standing ovation.

President Monson also gave the commencement address & of course did a great job! He talked about:
  • A special spirit on campus that day
  • Happiness & smiles
  • The past is behind us - learn from it!
  • The future is ahead - prepare for it!
  • The present is here - live in it!
  • Quoted Will Rogers - "You must love people and use things. Never use people and love things."

Brad & Jennie were there also for her BIL & her parents.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the day!
It was a great day! So proud of you Trent!
