Fall Break - Wilson Peak hike 10/16/10

Fall Break.
No soccer games, no coaching, no school.
Great time to head to the cabin!! So that's just what we did!

The kids climbed trees (Rigby was especially proud of how high he could climb! But he did need help getting down because he was so high!)
Rode on the 4 wheelers & rhino.
Played on Grandpa's tractor.
Tried to help Grandpa fix the hay baler.

Posed for a super cute picture in front of the hay!
And they hiked! They hiked to the top of Wilson Peak! It was a 4 hour hike & they all made it!

This is my view of the hike from the cabin (I did not hike & stayed with the little ones). To the top of the peak! They are actually on top when I took the picture!

This is their view from the top looking down at me at the cabin! The cabin is just above the pond.

Now some great pictures from during the hike! Lainee was quite the trooper!

Another one of my favorite pics of the day!

Don't look down! A little scary having her so close to the edge!

The boys doing the wave of victory when the made it to the top! Lainee said they started singing "We are the champions!"

Jesse, Tanner, & Lainee the super hikers!

It was single file to cross here. Both sides dropped right off & to make it worse the ground here is pebbly slidy rock! One slip & they could of been goners! Think Angels Landing but with shifty rocks!

They had to do some rock climbing too!

Home now & getting cleaned up! I let them use my tub for the first time & they LOVED it! Gotta love group baths!

My Lainee is 9!

During all of this craziness, my Laines had a birthday! It was her first week at the new school, Little Valley, so she got to take treats to her class. I think it helped her adjust with getting to have a special day there. Here she is in her birthday outfit.
After school a new neighbor friend, Amanda, came over. She is a cousin to Lainee's friend Kia!
We took Amanda & Kia with the family to see the Legends of the Guardians movie in 3D instead of having a party.
We then had some family over for cake & ice cream. Megan was even in town with her boyfriend Kenny.
With all those people we had to do the spanking machine!
Of course we had to do presents! Rigby was a super big help with those!
Lainee decorated her cake all by herself!
We had a second cake for the "candles/matches"! So maybe I overlooked the whole candle issue with all that was going on! The matches worked fine!
I can't believe she is 9! They really do grow up way to fast! We love you Lainee!
We have had a super busy few weeks! And I suspect that it is going to continue for a while! So a quick catch up!

Last Tuesday we flew up for Trevor & Misty's wedding in SLC. Aren't they a beautiful couple?!

Proud father, Alan, with Tyson & Audrey hitching a ride!

Beautiful dress! Love all the ruffles! We also went to the luncheon & they had Cafe Rio cater it! Misty is an accountant for them!

Jana hooked up the whole family with tickets to Tarzan! We all loved it! Lainee wanted pictures with all the actors & was the only brave one. I forced Olivia to be in one picture with me!

In the South Pointe ward, the Primary had a talent show. It was super cute!
Rigby did a comic routine of knock knock jokes followed up with a pie in Tyson's face! DD & Rigby were so cute! And Tyson was a good sport!

Lainee played "America the Beautiful" & performed it perfectly.

Then Olivia & Lainee did a ballet dance to "Fireflies". They even had flashing ringpops on their fingers to look like fireflies!
Lainee also learned to hula dance.
And to use poi balls!
And as if that weren't enough, she also sewed a pillow case!

We made painting the new house a family affair. Everyone got to help out! Bye bye green! Hello Brook Trout gray!

We officially moved into the new house on September 17th. We followed that with a yard sale the next day! It was insanely crazy! I may have stayed up all night getting ready for it!
