Bryce Canyon Half Marathon & 5k 7/18/09

With Trent training for the marathon, he decided that he should do a half marathon & thought I should join him! Of course I knew better & went with the 5k! I really hated the run! It went out from the park down hill (slight, nothing compared to the down hill of the half!) which meant it was uphill all the way back! I kept saying to myself, "Why am I doing this? I am NEVER running again! There is no way I'll finish under 30 minutes! And I don't even care, just as long as I finish!" Finally as the end was in view, I saw the time clock ... 27.18!! What?!? No way! So that made it a lot better! I had run all by myself without a watch & had paced myself with a girl in front of me so I had no clue how I was doing. I took 5th in my age group & 20th overall. My pace was 8:47! I am pleased with that! And of course when Monday morning came around I got up & went running again! So much for NEVER again!

Ugly picture but proof that I did it!

Not long after I got through the half marathon runners started coming in. Trent was planning on finishing around 1:45. So we went to the finish line and here comes Trent finishing in 1:37! Awesome! He looked great! He finished 20th in his age group & 92nd overall! There were a lot more runners for the half marathon than the 5k! His overall pace was 7:26! I am so proud of him!

What a strong finish! Nice job Trent! That's my man!
Coming in at 1:59, Liline, Miranda, and Don finished all together!
Liline went back to meet up with Debbie who finished in 2:20. Good job Deb!
Good job! Woo hoo!
Yeah its over!
The crew! Miranda, Don, Liline, Debbie, Me, & Trent.
That's right! We're biting our medals!
Rigby didn't want to be left out!

4th of July 2009

This year we headed up to Foremaster Ridge to watch the fireworks. Grandma & Grandpa Moss joined us & then came to our house to do sparklers with us. It was quite the view. Rigby still plugged his ears but enjoyed the show!

Moss Family Trip to Joseph 2009

Day 1

We met up in Cove Fort to have a picnic & then do the tour. It was fun & the furniture was awesome! I wanted to take them all home! We had a great tour guide. We then headed on to Joseph to check out the digs! Jeff, Chanieca, & Joni made a yummy dinner of fettuccine & alfredo & then we went fishing. Little did we know how long or crazy of a drive it would be! Super steep drop offs because of the climb to 13,000 feet elevation but there were some beautiful views & we got to see some elk, deer, & turkeys. We even did get to fish for about an hour!

Day 2

We went to the Fremont Indian Museum & got to go on a little hike to see some Indian art (I don't know how to spell the correct word & spell check didn't understand what I was trying to spell!), watched a little video, & even got to throw some arrows (I don't remember the name). We even climbed down into a pit house which is a hole in the ground that is covered with a roof. We then picnicked by the river & went back to the church to change into our swimsuits for swimming in Richfield. When we got back Dave & Tamara prepared an awesome fun fiesta night! They even took our orders in Spanish with a variety of foods to choose from! Afterwards we played some games like the jumping bean, Mexican hat dance, pinata & limbo. It was a fun day!

Day 3

We decided to tube up the Sevier River, now I say up because it runs north! We found a section of river that was calm & floated. It was fun & relaxing. That night Shawn & Judy made apricot chicken with rice & garlic green beans. Following dinner Judy directed a play for us! It was so cute! With Grandma & Grandpa Moss as King & Queen, the girls as fairies & the boys as royal knights, and Davey as the Jester.

Day 4

Thursday was a fun lazy day. We had outdoor games. Jana had some hula hoop games, dodge ball, & a tennis ball relay. Then we sent the kids down to the park for lunch. They fed the kids in Joseph everyday & let our kids join in! It was really nice not to worry about fixing lunch! Then we set up the water slides & balloons & let them at it! My camera ended up soaking wet & out of commission for a day so I didn't get any pictures that night. Teri, Trent & I did hamburgers on the grill that night with the fixins & root beer floats for dessert. After we went bowling.

Day 5

Our final day! After packing up & taking pictures we headed off to the Redmond Salt Mines. They don't let you do tours anymore so it was a video & sales pitch but we did get to see their robot "Robbie" at work. We even tasted some raw milk which I didn't care for at all! After that we headed back to Richfield to Ideal Dairy for ice cream before we all headed home. All in all a very fun trip!

Disneyland & Universal Studios 5/09

So back in May, my little bro Doug, went to Disneyland with his inlaws. They purchased 3 day hopper packages & ended up only using 2 of the days. So they offered their tickets to us & so we surprised the kids! We woke them up early & went to the airport & flew to LA. Their suspions grew as we got closer. We pulled into the McDonalds across from Disneyland for breakfast & told them that was where we were going, but they didn't fall for that!

So they were of course so excited! My friend Holly decided to drive down as well. So she & a bunch of her family came too. It was really nice because we were able to go on some big rides without worrying about the little ones. The next day we went to Universal Studios. That was fun too. Rigby still talks about the Water World show! It was a fun, fast, & crazy 2 days!
